Australian JL to get new standard safety tech

As the new Wrangler is set to launch in Australia shortly, it has now been announced that FCA will adding five star safety to the model. According to some reports AEB will become a standard on all trim levels. Do you guys think this is something that we could see implemented globally as well?

Since FCA has already outline they have electric variants in the pipeline, its only natural that we see new safety tech being placed in the Wrangler. So long as it doesn't come with an increase to the MSRP, I think its long overdue.

These kinds of safety features have become pretty standard across the industry, so I think its a cost that FCA will have to absorb. I'm a little surprised that its being implemented in Australia first, as I though NA had the more strict regulations.

Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist along with other features offered in the advanced safety packages that Jeep sells could help attract more first time Wrangler buyers.

There are a lot more off road oriented vehicles in Australia, so I think FCA has had to make these changes to stay competitive. It's only a matter of time before we ACC and some sort of auto crawl function.

I'll bet that we will see these features as standard in the next model year, because safety has become a key factor of purchase. FCA might as well slowly roll out this kind of tech as they move towards autonomy after 2020.

They're due to launch a flagship product, the Grand Wagoneer, and often those are used to launch next generation features.
Its even more of a reason because this product alone will help shift perception of Jeep and bring buyers closer to the brand.

I was under the impression that the Grand Wagoneer was being launched as a premium luxury vehicle? If that's the case then that's probably where a lot of their new tech will debut, but it might be hard to sell people on a +$100k Jeep.
