JL 2.0 turbo. Just got mine
Well I must say it was a present surprise. More power much quieter better Millage.. I guess I am not as knolegable as I once was as I never realized the new turbo was a hybrid. A mild hybrid but a hybrid just the same. The electric motor is located top front motor and hooks to the drive belt. That way it is used to help restart the engine.from start stop mode. In the 3.6 start stop was annoying. Noticeable stop and very noticeable restart. Well none of that in the turbo. Have to watch the tach to tell you hav estoppel and startup just happens. No noise nothing. Just power on like “it was electric”. Which it is. Still not sure how all this extra stuff will function in HEAVY off reading. I.e. rock crawling. But for daily driving it is great.

Congrats on the new JL! Glad to hear that the new mild hybrid system is relatively seamless. Are you coming from a JK?

Congratulations. And for the most part stop/stop systems have become a lot less clunky. Mild hybrid systems is FCA first step towards fully electric Wranglers, which are expected to debut after 2020.

Traded in my JKU sport for a 2018 JLR and I'm loving the 2.0T! I was skeptical at first with all the negative press, but so far so good. I was very surprised by the power and MPG. I am interested to see how 3rd parties will utilize the new engine how mods will affect performance. Overall I'm very pleased so far with the JL.

Congrats to the both of you and welcome to the community. I agree that start/stop functionality has become a lot more seamless and that's to everyone's benefit. Always found it a bit jarring in older vehicles and would disable it whenever possible.

SEMA is around the corner and as per usual, we should be in for some surprises.
