Hey all, Just bought my first Jeep and I'm new to off-roading but am pretty excited about it. 2018 JLU Rubicon.

My main question is what is worth buying on the aftermarket and what is a waste of money? Winch? (obviously but what size), roof rack, K&N cold air intake, a better exhaust....

Any help would definitely be appreciated.

Congrats on the JL and welcome to the forum! I mean aftermarket mods all depend on what you're looking to do with the Wrangler. Luckily since you went with the Rubicon, you can upgrade to 35' tires without having to lift it. For an intake you might be better off going with a short ram as opposed to a cold air, as it'll be less likely to pull in water. Exhaust is something that's entirely up to your preference in sound. I'm sure you'll find plenty of cat back options.

Welcome to the forum and grats on the Wrangler. It's not really a waste of money so long as you like it, at least that's what I live by and why I have a T-Rex suit. But that's neither here or there.
If you have a limited budget, I'd say drop the exhaust for now.

My only input, and based solely on my personal experience from decades ago when it was all new to me too, is just go drive it. On road. Off road. Easy trail. Hard trail. Daily drive. Road trip. Then, after a few months or maybe even sooner, you'll know almost without hesitation what you need to improve your vehicle to meet the demands of the driving you most enjoy but after use the vehicle has short comings.
Enjoy, and congrats on the new Toy!
