what would you think? as for my take on it, being okay with the fact we're losing the fold down windshield, getting new tops and a few other things, i wouldn't mind a JL production model like this...

I wouldn't be too happy with that at all. Doesn't look nearly as rugged and aggressive as a Wrangler should look. Like @Gina said, it also reminds me of a Renegade. A toned down version of an off-road machine like the Wrangler.

That could be the problem as it looks like someone chopped off the front of a Renegade and stuck it onto the body of a Wrangler. I'm sure it would appeal to some Jeep buyers, but not really to the existing Wrangler crowd.

For comparison, although its not the greatest example here is what the JL Wrangler's front looks like. Just a test mule but the fact is there are differences. But they hid the main thing we're after and that's how the grille fits into the bumper.

There's no space at the top for a Jeep badge, so I'm guessing it'll be moved to the bottom of the grille or relocated elsewhere like the hood. I do like how the headlights are encroaching into the grille slots. I'm skeptical that this is the production grille since it's missing the blinker lights that the mule has.

I think the badge will end up on the hood as the hood is longer and curves down a little.

There's a lot of space for the signal lights so maybe they'll put them in? I doubt this is the official production part for it

I'd like to say that it was a custom Renegade grille more than the new Wrangler JL's grille. As HighRider said, it's missing the fog light holes and the grille slats in the camouflaged model looks straight instead of indented to make space for the headlights.

Unless its part of some custom build someone is doing and figured they can pass it off as a next Wrangler grille just for the sake of making something go viral. Best thing to do is match up what we see in this picture to spy shots of the wrangler.

Found this stuff on jalopnik. This is about the grill and does pose valid points.

With that, let’s break down the significant changes here assuming this really is the next face of the Jeep Wrangler:

-There’s no room for a “Jeep” badge. It’s either 86’ed completely or moved up to the hood, the latter of which seems more likely.
-Headlights eat into the grille slots. This suggests the slots themselves are wider, and calls back to the pre-“Wrangler” CJ Jeep style of the 1970s and early 80s.
-No more blinkers below the headlights. Past hints and leaks have indicated that the turn signal lights will be LED strips on the fenders in the next Jeep Wrangler, as opposed to circles on the face.
-The kink in the grille slots curving inward is reminiscent of the first Jeep to be called “Wrangler,” the YJ style, which most famously had square headlights and ran from the late 1980’s into the 1990’s.
-The whole grille-surround piece is significantly wider at the top than the current unit, suggesting the front fenders will be noticeably reshaped as well.

With that breakdown above, it does seem that this is indeed the new Wrangler grill. I really don't mind if the badge is moved or even just removed completely for that matter. Regardless, you know it's a Jeep.. no questioning that

Comparing it to what we see in spy shots, that alone is convincing me its the real deal. the only thing its missing is a lower cut out under the headlamp cut out. So this picture got taken by someone that pulled it from a Jeep Facility or even some company they contracted the job out to, which isn't entirely out of the norm for a car maker to do.

Since there's so much space under the headlight cutout, would it be possible to fit an extra set of small LED headlights there for those dark off-roading nights?
If the front end will have the same lighting setup as the JK, that means we should expect that spot to be filled. Fitting LEDs in the existing setup is possible, just depends on your wallet and how far you're willing to go.

Look out for Mopar, they already have a setup for the JK, no reason not to follow through with the JL.
