The 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is underway in Las Vegas and Jeep used this event to showcase the host of new technologies their 2018 Wrangler has to offer.
At the forefront is the new award-winning
fourth-generation Uconnect system which, according to
Auto123, is faster to start than its predecessor with a high resolution 8.4-inch touchscreen and enhanced processing power. It even comes with more practical functionalities including 4G LTE connected services and integration of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
In addition, Jeep introduced a new
Jeep Adventure Reality application for iPhone 7, 8, X and iPad Pro users. Said app offers consumers an “augmented reality experience” where users can configure their dream Wrangler and interact with it by removing doors, lowering the windshield, etc. Customers can even see what the Wrangler would look like parked on their driveway or in the garage. Once completed, the build can be shared on social media platforms or linked too Jeep for inventory and pricing information.
Lastly, Jeep introduced their new
Uconnect app for smartwatches. Compatible with Apple Watch and Android Wear, owners can use the app to remotely start their car, lock/unlock doors, flash the lights and even honk your horn. Do note this app is only available in 2018 model year vehicles with SiriusXM Guardian.
What we’re seeing here could become the new standard for future Jeep vehicles.
