Yup, a Jeep Wrangler Hellcat aka, the Trailcat. Jeep revealed it at this year’s Moab Easter Jeep Safari, an event held every year in Moab, Utah and 2016 is the event’s 50th anniversary. What can be better than celebrating it with a Jeep Wrangler powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter V-8?

Sure, Jeep brought along seven one offs to this year’s event but the Trailcat takes the show. Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, this Hellcat Wrangler is ready to put all 707 horses to work over Moab’s wide open areas and rocky terrain.

Of course a few modifications to the body had to be made, an additional 12 inches had to be added to the wheelbase so the Hellcat engine would actually fit and the designers chopped off 2 inches from the windshield for a sleeker look. Other than that, it’s equipped with 17-inch beadlock wheels and 39.5-inch BF-Goodrich Krawler T/A KX tires, Dana 60 axles front and rear, and Fox shocks.

We all know aggressive decals can make anything go faster so Hellcat decals were put on the front quarter panels and a "Trailcat" decal on the side of the hood. Even the custom shifter ball is sporting the Hellcat logo.

As for how it sounds; well listen to the purrs yourself:

This is just a concept model and it is most likely never going to make it into production but if you have the money and you’re not willing to wait for the Wrangler JL, maybe your future lies with a Hellcat Wrangler.

Hellcat engine is indeed what the whole Hellcat theme is based around, otherwise it would be just some special off-road package and not anything that indicates power. But typically with off-road parts as hardcore as the ___hawk models come with, power mods are done as well, just look at what enthusiasts do with their custom builds.

I assume the stock engine can be made to produce only so much more hp. But if you already have a hellcat, you won't need to do much to the engine, just add on the offroad mods and you'll be good to go. I've seen a few wrangler mods where the engine was switched out but that's a project that's beyond a lot of people, including me.

That's quite impressive. But do you really need that much more power? And at that point we really have to start thinking about reliability, at the end of the day I will want to have something with good levels of power with reliability to go with it.
