Some new leaks have come out prior to Jeeps new pickup debut at the LA Auto Show. Rumor has it that it will be called the Gladiator and not the Scrambler, which it has been referred to as thus far. Some new photos/renderings also give us our best look at the model to date.
Looks pretty similar to the other renderings that I've seen and I don't think FCA will stray far from the design cues that we see on the JL. Don't really think that the nameplate matters all that much, as they are both based upon older Jeep models.
Exactly what I would envision a Jeep pickup to look like. Now we just need to wait and see if FCA is smart enough to equip it with lockers, a full time transfer case and low range gearing.
Since its likely going to share a lot of underpinnings with the Wrangler, I would expect that certain trim levels will be very much geared towards off road performance. Will be interested to see what cab and bed configurations that FCA will provide on it.
I've heard that it will be available in a two door, which has actually become somewhat of a rarity with newer pickups. Towing capacity has also been largely improved over the Wrangler, which was definitely needed.
