Mahindra Roxor, the Mini Willys Jeep

Looks like the Indian company, Mahindra has plans to release the Roxor (a Mini Willys) as an off road side by side in the U.S. Its different than most side by sides in the segment as it includes a fully-boxed steel frame, a turbodiesel engine and a proper five-speed manual tranny. Under the good its got a 2.5-liter turbodiesel that puts out 62 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque. The engine drives the ROXOR to a top speed of 45 mph. Looks like it'll start at around $15k and will be available in a staggering 900 color options.

This is a pretty cool little utility vehicle, saw it a few weeks ago and at first I thought we were seeing a Willy revival. Not a bad price for such a unique side by side and I'm pretty surprised it has the same towing specs as a full size Wrangler.
I don't know if you guys have heard but FCA is toping to stop the Roxor from being sold in the U.S. Even though Mahindra has a patent for original Willy Jeep design, and this 4x4 is for off road use only, FCA seems to think it'll harm their business.
That's a little absurd as I don't see how a side by side could possible impact sales of the Wrangler. Hopefully Mahindra has done their due diligence in whatever patents/copyrights they have secured.
They probably would have never got on FCA's radar if they hadn't decided to expand availability to the U.S. But I agree that it seems like a bit of a scare tactic, as they know Mahindra probably can't afford an expensive legal battle.
