Can see a little bit from this rendering here, but Mopar is teasing some images of what they'll be bringing to SEMA. Here's a rendering of the Wrangler that should be set to go.. Let the imagination run wild !
I absolutely love that thing ! From that bare tail gate to the Viper seats. They went with that retro look with the modern tid-bits that just keep it all so amazing ! Also love how the gauges are set in there.
I don't know about you guys but that steering wheel look weird, looks like something that belongs in a hot rod or rad rod, not a in Wrangler where the overall obvious theme is rugged off road. Even an OEM steering wheel would have been better.
I honestly think it's just the center piece of the steering wheel. If they would have left a regular one that had the Jeep logo, it would be alright. Ties in with the seats. But with all that fancy "engraving" with the big chrome surround, it just completely throws it off
That or they don't care because its the easiest thing to do on a build like this. But considering this was a build for SEMA its possible these guys were in so much of a rush they had to settle for whatever they could get within the dead line.
What would complete the Mopar Wrangler is a set of tiny removable doors. They won't do much of anything as the door space is so small, but the thought of them just tickles my fancy.
Anyone know what is house in that indent on the outside beside the driver seat? Originally thought it was the gas port but it could be a gauge of some kind.
Not too sure what's there but it looks like a toggle switch of some sort with a gauge beside it. I have checked so many sites that wrote something on it, and they take close up pictures of everywhere else on the CJ66 concept, but nobody got close to that portion unfortunately.
Switches like those are generally located in the center console, but that would be a great addition to the Wrangler JL in case you need an extra inch or two to go over a particularly rough patch. But that may add too much to the MSRP.
These definitely weren't made with the intention to sell them though so it is possible. Kill switches are usually in the rear of the vehicle but it is possible. Can't imagine it being air though, those are typically inside.
The Ram Rebel had such a system and it's a subsidiary of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. Technology sharing between brands under the same umbrella isn't a new phenomenon, just up to FCA to see if there's a need for a feature like that.
It's only done from the factory when the racing division of said car makers makes them for race teams. Aside from that its done by individuals, shops, etc.
I thought we were talking about the Jeep air ride systems? Didn't think it's limited to just the racing division as it's already found in production models.
Speaking of SEMA and all things aftermarket, maybe Rancho is already working on some shocks for the new Wrangler JL. I've heard great things about their Rancho 9000xl shocks.
