This hasn't been confirmed yet, but MotorTrend says the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 should be available soon and it'll be a $1,000. But you can only get it with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Great to see more engine offerings, but a big thumbs down to the sole automatic transmission. A turbo charged engine was exactly what I was looking for in the JL and it sucks that'll have to come at a compromise. The additional cost also seems to increase to around $3k when paired with the required 8 speed automatic. Imo turbo engines just perform better with a manual gearbox.
