It looks like the first special edition of the JL may have been spotted in Michigan. An Unlimited MOAB edition of the car was seen on a hauler, just a few minutes away from FCA's headquarters. It hasn't been confirmed whether or not this is an OEM edition or just a one off model. This particular model has matte black five spoke wheels, BFGoodrich Km2 Mud Terrains, factory steel bumpers, black tow hooks and different styled rock rails. Given Jeeps strong relation to Moab, it makes sense to kick of the JL's special edition lineup with this kind of model.

Great to see that Jeep may already be working on new variants. I wonder where they would plan on slotting this in the lineup. Hopefully we get some more pictures from a better angle to get a sense of what else has been changed.

I like that they're trying to tie in more Jeep culture into the products but this also needs to be backed up by events hosted by Jeep and/or its dealers.

Most Jeep owners I know drive in the city but like the idea of playing around off road, most haven't been and could use an introduction.

There are going to have to do more than throw black wheels and accessories on it to justify that Moab badge. I like that they are appealing to the off road community, but they should know that some cosmetic tweaks aren't enough for this edition.
