We've been reading a lot of reviews about how well the Wrangler performs off road, but Jeep plants to give everyone a rundown of its new technology at the Consumer Electronics Show next week. As far as I know, one thing they should show off is the UConnect's compatibility with Android and Apple smartwatches. So you can use the watches like a key. Not quite sure what else is in store.

If only I could attend. Heard that Jeep will be offering attendees a chance to try out the new system and they'll giving hands on demonstrations. Maybe even have a smartwatch on hand to try out the Uconnect App Smartwatch Compatibility.

I don't really get all these augmented reality car apps that are being released, to show what the car would look like in your driveway. I mean I definitely see the warrant for being able to build and spec a Jeep and see how it would look, but a car is really something you need to see in person. Not sure I like the idea of being able to unlock/start your car with a smartwatch, that to me just opens more vulnerabilities for theft.

I can say that the functions like GPS operate super fast. There is no delay between anything you do with the head unit.
Thanks for that feedback because having used Google Maps as my GPS all these years on my phones I have been used to that more than anything. Plus its hard to ignore the faults owners are reporting in infotainment systems these days.
